Heat Pumps

Air source Heat pump is a device which extracts heat from air and transfer heat to the water. Main components of heat pump are

  • Evaporator
  • Compressor
  • Condenser
  • Expansion valve
  • Fan

Function:

Fan draws out side ambient air in to the heat pump and pass through the evaporator coil. In the evaporator coil, the refrigerant can turn liquid to gas at very low temperature. This gas compressed by compressor to elevate the temperature and pressure. Condenser is nothing but tube in tube or tube in shell heat exchanger is made of copper pipe with no welding inside. The internal spiral surface of copper tube ensure effectiveness of heat exchanger. Provision is made for gas as well as water connection.

Heated gas pass through one tube while water passes through the shell. Water gets instantly heated from 15 deg.c to 55 deg.c. Refrigerant gas is condensed and goes to liquid from the same pressure as discharged by compressor. In expansion valve, causes sudden pressure drop in refrigerant, in turn refrigerant temperature drop to temperature below the ambient air. It is ready to receive heat from air. Thus gas cycle complete.

A. Evaporator coil :

Evaporator coil used is of fin and tube type. This fins are hydrophilic treated aluminium fins to resists corrosion and copper tubes are inner grooved type, which increases the heat transfer in the refrigerant side.

B. Water Heat Exchanger (Condenser)

1. High efficiency tube-in-shell heat exchanger for circulating type.

High working pressure :

The copper pipe is of 0.8- 1.2 mm thickness, no welding inside with its extra ordinary pressure resistance property. The copper pipe is without any leakage under 5kg/sq.cm pressure test.

  • The internal spiral surface of the copper tube ensures the effectiveness of
  • heat exchange and prevent from lubricant accumulation.
  • Grooved external surface of the copper tube increases heat transfer area which is 3.7 times of the smooth surface.

C. Compressor:-

  • Famous branded rotary compressor for domestic heat pumps.
  • Copland or Donfoss scroll type compressor for commercial and industrial heat pump.
  • Can work at -25deg.C,low noise, long life and long working time design.

D. Pumps:-

  • Domestic range are supplied with built-in circulation pump, heat pump
  • supply with German Willo pumps as a standard supply.

E. Expansion Valve:-

  • Electrical expansion wall(EEV) is used for domestic range.
  • Alco(Emerson) or Donfoss thermal expansion wall(TEV) is used for commercial range.

F. Intelligent Control:-

The units are supplied with microprocessor based digital controller with LCD display. The control is programmed to provide maximum protection to the heat pump system and accurate temperature control. The control panel is completely fixed and cabled at manufacturing unit and supplied along with all accessories.

Domestic Heat pump circulating model adopts high efficiency tube – in – shell water heat exchanger and incorporate a built in German Willo pump and for every installation. The unit is capable of producing hot water with a maximum temperature up to 55 deg.c It can retrofit to existing solar water heater tank or electrical geyser to replace electric water heater. save more than 2/3 energy.
